Check out WDHA Presents: Black Veil Brides at Palladium Time Square on Wednesday May 15th!

Black Veil Brides is an American rock group formed in 2006 by lead vocalist Andy Biersack. Originally formed in Ohio, Biersack moved the group out to Hollywood, California where they planted their roots. Members currently include Andy Biersack, Jinxx, Jake Pitts, Christian “CC” Coma, and Lonny Eagleton. The band has a unique appearance, with their members often opting to wear black makeup and body paint, in addition to tight black studded clothes and long hair. This look was heavily influenced by eighties glam rock bands Kiss and Motley Crue.

Their debut album, We Stitch These Wounds, was released in 2010 and charted at No. 36 on the Billboard Top 200 as well as No. 1 on the Billboard Independent Charts. It was around that same time that Black Veil Brides came to the attention of Lava Records after popular 2000s clothing store, Hot Topic reported that the band’s t-shirt attracted the second largest sale in the country of the time.

From that point on, Black Veil Brides began touring with more bands, including hard rock and metal bands such as Asking Alexandria, Hollywood Undead, The Birthday Massacre, and Murderdolls. They also began their run of shows at the Vans Warped Tour in 2011. Black Veil Brides has performed at the Vans Warped Tour multiple times since their debut performance – in 2013, 2015, and 2018.

Their song, “Unbroken,” appeared in the soundtrack to Marvel’s 2012 film, “The Avengers” which grossed $1.519 billion worldwide and broke numerous records at the time of its release. Their glam metal sound had broken barriers into mainstream culture.

Since then, Black Veil Brides has released six studio albums, with their most recent album, The Phantom Tomorrow, being released in 2021. The band has won over two dozen awards stemming from MTV to Kerrang! to Revolver and more since their inception.
