See Daniel Tosh at the State Theatre NJ on Saturday, April 5th!

Born in May of 1975 in West Germany, Daniel Tosh is one of the most recognizable modern comedians. Starting his comedy career in 1997, he took on touring around comedy clubs. In 2001, Tosh got his big break with a performance on the Late Show with David Letterman, launching him from comedy clubs to becoming a TV regular. He began making appearances on other night talk shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as well as becoming a commercial spokesman for Taco Bell. Daniel Tosh would get his own Comedy Central Presents standup special in 2003, marking the beginning of a long career with the company. In 2007, they would air his special Daniel Tosh: Completely Serious, as well as have him host an episode of their Live at Gotham show. This special was followed up with 2011’s Daniel Tosh: Happy Thoughts which reached 3.25 million viewers when it premiered. Tosh also was the executive producer for the animated show Brickleberry, where he also voiced the character “Malloy”. The highlight of Daniel Tosh’s career is arguably his 12-season run hosting his show Tosh.0 on Comedy Central. The show, which he was also executive producer for, was a clip show styled TV show, with Tosh making commentary along the way. The show also included Tosh making jokes about trending topics and other social media interests. Each show, Tosh would also welcome a guest from a viral video, either as a “Web Redemtpion” to take their viral video and what made it viral and double down on it, or as a “Web Reunion” where he would do less recreation and more talking-centered content. After Tosh.0 ended in 2020, Daniel Tosh would begin working on Tosh Show, a podcast available on multiple platforms. With Tosh as the host and featuring Tosh.0 co-creator Eddie behind the camera, Tosh Show also features in-studio guests. While the podcast does follow the format of many others, the video format of the podcast includes video clips similarly to Tosh.0. Tickets are on sale now at stnj.org.
