The Denville Sunrise Rotary Club is having its “Great Denville Duck Race” on Saturday, June 16.
Ducks can be purchased from Write On Gifts, Denville Dairy, Provident Bank, Denville Dawg and Grill, Denville Diner, and Denville Chiropractic for $10. Decorate your duck at home and bring it to Gardner Field, located at 30 Savage Road in Denville, at 10 am to have your duck entered. Judging the decorated ducks will take place at 10:45 am. Denville Mayor Tom Andes will fire off the starting cannon at 11 am, where ducks will be dumped into the Rockaway River by the infamous “Ducket Loader.” Do not worry, the ducks will be returned to the children at the conclusion of the race and prizes will be awarded!
Enjoy some refreshments and purchase your 50/50 tickets while your child’s duck is swimming its way to victory. Proceeds benefit the many charitable projects sponsored by the club for Denville.
