Born in East Troy, Wisconsin, Jared James Nichols has clawed tooth and nail for the career he has and shows no signs of slowing down. After moving to LA with nothing in 2010, he entered and won the Gibson Les Paul Tribute Contest. Shortly after he ended up recording and releasing a 3-song EP in 2012 titled Live at the Viper Room. After the release of his EP, Jared toured his heart out, playing clubs, festivals like SXSW and Freakout Festival, and eventually opening for Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and ZZ Top. By the time 2015 rolled around, he had completed a successful 2-month European tour and his debut full-length album Old Glory & The Wild Revival was released.
By 2016, Jared started to get even more praise from the industry, as Music Radar had named him one of the “Top Upcoming Guitar Players in the World” and Honda and UPROXX featured him in a short documentary about his drive to raise through the ranks of the music industry which very rapidly went viral. As his reputation in the industry grew, he was added to tours across the US and Europe supporting acts like Fozzy, L.A. Guns, Living Colour, Saxon, and Zakk Wylde. In January of 2018, his second album Black Magic came out, quickly followed by the single “Nails in the coffin” in July of 2019, which proceeded to dominate in the UK.
Fast forward to now, Jared James Nichols has been named a global ambassador for Gibson Guitars, one of only four guitarists to receive the title. He has not one, not two, but three signature Epiphone Les Paul guitars. He has a signature amplifier via Blackstar Amplification. Jared has a long climb left to reach the Mount Rushmore of guitar legends such as Eric Clapton and Eddie Van Halen, but with the grit and determination Jared has pushed this far with, and the sheer talent he possesses, it’s only a matter of time before he’s up there with the best.
