Meshuggah, an extreme metal band formed in Sweden, is the headliner of this tour. Since the band formed in 1987, Meshuggah has gone on to release nine studio albums with their debut album being Contradictions Collapse (1991) and their most recent album being Immutable (2022). The band has won several awards, such as Death Match Hall of Fame in the Loudwire Music Awards and Best Underground Band in the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. Meshuggah was even nominated for Best Metal Performance in the Grammy Awards for their song “Clockworks.”
In Flames is another heavy metal band, formed in Sweden in 1990. The band is known for being an influence in rock music, specifically by establishing the genre of Swedish death metal. In Sweden, the band has won four Grammis awards including Best Hard Rock/Metal Album and the Swedish Export Award. In Flames has also had lots of international success, helping to put Sweden on the map for the country’s rock music. Most recently, the band released their fourteenth album, Foregone, including singles “State of Slow Decay,” “The Great Deceiver,” “Foregone, Pt. 1,” “Foregone, Pt. 2,” and “Meet Your Maker.”
The last band featured on this tour is the deathcore band, Whitechapel. The band has released eight albums since they formed in 2006 in Tennessee. One of the bands influences is Meshuggah, the headliner of this tour. Whitechapel is currently signed with Metal Blade Records. The most recent album that the band has produced with this label is Kin, released on October 29, 2021. The singles from this album include “Lost Boy,” “A Bloodsoaked Symphony,” and “Orphan.” Kin was even listed on Loudwire as the 37th best rock/metal album of 2021.
