Check out Nick Swardson at the Bergen Performing Arts Center on Friday, April 25th!

Born in October of 1976, Nick Swardson is a household name when it comes to comedy. One look at Nick and you are suddenly reminded as to where you saw him first, whether it be as Jeff in 2006’s Grandma’s Boy, Terry from the original run of Reno 911! or from one of his many other notable roles.

Nick Swardson got his start doing stand-up comedy at the age of 18, eventually gaining enough traction to perform a set at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival at the age of 20. From there, he performed at larger and larger clubs, eventually headlining clubs in Los Angeles. His hard work earned him small roles, such as Justin on LateLine in 1999 and as a crazy David Bowie fan in 2000’s Almost Famous.

In 2001, Nick Swardson was given a Comedy Central Presents special, with a second special coming in 2006. In 2003, Nick’s career really began to take off, as that year he co-wrote Maliu’s Most Wanted with Jamie Kennedy and Adam Small, took on his reoccurring role as Terry, and marked the start of his friendship and long-time work relationship with Adam Sandler.

Once connected with Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions, his career began to grow exponentially. Nick Swardson would appear in hit comedies such as The Benchwarmers (2006), Blades of Glory (2007), and Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015), and is set to star in the long-awaited Happy Gilmore 2.

Nick Swardson has also made a career in television, making appearances on Cavemen, Chozen, Portlandia, and even a reoccurring role on Disney’s Star vs. the Forces of Evil. He also hosted his own sketch show Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time from 2010 to 2011. Outside of the film and TV world, he also has four stand up specials in Party (2007), Seriously, Who Farted? (2009), Taste It (2015), and his most recent Many Smells which was released in 2024.
