Check out Pop Evil at Reverb in Reading, PA on Friday November 3rd!
Formed in North Muskegon, Michigan in 2001 from parts of other local Michigan bands, Pop Evil has made a name for themselves in the hard rock community. Originally comprised of vocalist Leigh Kakaty, guitarist Dave Grahs, bassist Jamie Nummer, and drummer Dylan Allison, the band independently put out a few independent releases before a talent scout found them in late 2007, which proceeded to launch their mainstream careers. On August 12th, 2008 the band released their first official studio album Lipstick on the Mirror which featured radio hits like “Hero”, “100 in a 55”, and “Somebody Like You” which was also featured on one of their independent releases Ready or Not. Within a year, the band released a remixed and remastered version of Lipstick on the Mirror and went on tour with Whitesnake and Judas Priest.
Their second album War of Angels experienced a similar level of commercial success, with the first single “Last Man Standing” being featured across various sports broadcasts including the Stanley Cup Finals, the 2011 NFC Championship Game, and many NASCAR races, all of which helped the track reach the number 5 spot on the Active Radio charts. Despite War of Angels being delayed by a dispute with their label, the album was a massive hit for the band, hitting the number one spot on the Billboard Hard Rock and number 8 on the Rock charts.
Fast forward to now, Pop Evil has released 7 studio albums including the most recent Skeletons; toured with Theory of a Deadman, Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch, and Disturbed; and have consistently released tracks that do well on the various rock charts, some of which even earning an RIAA Gold certification. The band, which is now comprised of Nick Fuelling on guitar, Hayley Cramer on Drums, Joey “Chicago” Walser on bass, as well as founding members Leigh Kakaty and Dave Grahs, has also announced they will be going on the “Flesh & Bone” tour across the US with Fame On Fire and LYLVC.
