Bowie coming and going!

Howdy Friends,
It's TC and most of you already know what a massive David Bowie fan I am. My obsession began with David when I was a little kid and I first heard "The Rise and Fall Of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars" and first saw Bowie on TV (I think Don Kirshner's Rock Concert maybe?) and was mesmerized by the character, musician, artist and person he was. Bowie was one of the first visual rock stars that I experienced and his influence on music, pop culture, sound and vision is like no other.
I always think of this week in January as "Bowie Week". David's birthday is January 8th (1947) and his death was January 10th 2016. I remember waking up that morning and getting a text from Jim Monaghan who was on the air giving me the news.
My first Bowie show was in the 1980's during the "serious Moonlight" tour in support of his massively successful "Let's Dance" album (where he looked and sounded totally different than the Ziggy space alien I fell in love with!) and it was life changing for me. And I will never forget receiving the "Diamond Dogs" album for Christmas as a kid and being knocked over by that wild cover - David as half man- half dog?.....OMG! WILD!! David was always changing. ALWAYS. His emergence as the "Thin White Duke" on the "Station To Station" record was one of my favorite eras. That album is golden with "Stay", Station To Station", TVC15 and more....I love it so.
I first starting collecting photos and posters of Bowie as a kid and my t-shirt obsession started a few years later. I felt drawn to the energy of the lightning bolt, the characters, David's beautiful face and everything he stood for. A rock chameleon, he taught me early on what true artistry was all about.
I'm sharing a few exclusive photos of MY Bowie collection and yes, if you are around me for awhile, either at the station or at home, you will eventually feel the "Bowie" too. There is no way not to- he is everywhere! From clothing to artwork, Bowie themes around me, yup, I'm a bit obsessed and I LOVE it. In fact, this year at our WDHA Parking Lot Parties I received THREE Bowie gifts from listeners who attended including a tank top and fantastic book. See....you folks know me well!
I met him once....I'll keep that to myself, but I will let you know he was charming. Thank God!

David, we miss you.....music has never been the same Starman....
There's a Starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
