"Photo Memories- (Part 1)" - I decided to randomly select photos to include in "Part 2" to celebrate almost 50 years of WDHA being New Jersey's Rock Station.
Bands, Fans, Contests, T-shirts, Swag, you name it, we have the "photo evidence"! And all of you were with us along the way. What a journey- That's what National Radio Day means to us.
It's Terrie Carr and as I said on the air yesterday- I am always honored and humbled to be a small part of the days of our listeners. Hearing your stories, meeting your children, (and watching them turn on to music!) kissing your dogs.......how lucky am I?
I went back into MY archives and grabbed some photos (which is why I am in many of them) and it shows me that some are actually in black and white!
More WDHA Fun Facts
Our first owners Bob and Peter had a photo development business - "Fotosonics" - (who remembers their commercial?)
The station had so many beautifully taken photo memories. We had them hanging up everywhere.
One of the awful parts of our history is that during the years of 2005-2010, (when I left the station for 5 years) someone either gave them away or threw them away! Boy, was I ----ed off when I returned! Regardless we now have some awesome photographic memories courtesy of Joseph Frazz and Neil Seiffer in the early days.
We have also been a station that has had a Metal Show since the early 80s, have always embraced new music and artists, and have a large footprint in the community. Our community means everything to us. That expands out of Morris County and into the many, many counties locally that we serve.
We have also been a station that has welcomed many "In Studio" performances over the years, turning the WDHA studio into a musical performance space.
Enjoy Part 2 of the National Radio Day Gallery (I think I posted more than 25 photos) and check out more New Jersey and WDHA Rock content below courtesy of me!
