On the heels of their announcement that they will be supporting Five Finger Death Punch and Marilyn Manson on a cross-country Summer and Fall tour, WDHA is taking a look back at the day Slaughter To Prevail brought their signature Russian aggression to the Starland Ballroom.

The show was phenomenal. Between the absolutely brutal set to the nearly sold-out Starland crowd, it was really easily my favorite Slaughter To Prevail show I've seen. The last time I saw Starland this excited and pop off this hard was the last time E-Town Concrete came around, and considering the hometown love for E-Town, that is saying something. These guys are easily one of my favorite bands right now and know how to get the crowd ready and rowdy either as a headliner or an opener.

Easily one of metal's fastest-growing deathcore acts Slaughter To Prevail originally came from Yekaterinburg, Russia but is now based in Orlando, Florida. The group has only released their Chapters of Misery EP (2016) followed by two albums in Misery Sermon (2017) and Kostolom (2021), but the explosion of support following the singles “Agony” and especially “Demolisher” off of Kostolom sent the band to new heights. Recently, Slaughter To Prevail has released a handful of singles in "1984", "Viking", and most recently "Conflict". The band has typically been touring solo for the last few years, not wanting to have their shows limited by time constraints that come with multi-band tours, but have made exceptions for acts such as Falling In Reverse and now Five Finger Death Punch and Marilyn Manson, and have been announced to be playing a handful of US festivals this summer.

Slaughter To Prevail played an 11-song set that included:

Bonebreaker

Agony

Zavali Ebalo

Hell

Bratva

Made in Russia

Viking

I Killed A Man

Chronic Slaughter

Baba Yaga

Demolisher

Nick Polis
Nick PolisPromotions Coordinator
Promo team member Nick Polis has been rocking since day one. A drum set at 3 years old, a guitar at 10, and a Sony Discman instead of an MP3 player in middle school, he was raised on classic rock that slowly expanded to create his diverse music taste. After he started high school and attended the Vans Warped Tour, he had become a concert junkie, seeing live music whenever he could. This love for music pushed him towards his start in radio, as while at Seton Hall he became involved in the school's station WSOU. From there, Nick discovered his passion for radio, and further passion for photography. Now, he is a member of Team DHA, popping up wherever you least expect him. A bar to watch the Big Game? He's there. Headed to your local convenience store for a NJ Lottery ticket? There as well. Checking out your new favorite band? His camera and Hawaiian shirts are right there with you.
