10 Killer New Tunes that ROCK! As we ride the new music train to kick off summer!

Every month I feature a few new rockers that I am listening to and really liking. This month we have a phenomenal heavy duet, a super talented friend of the station that our listeners LOVE, 2 bands that killed it with their unique 90’s sounds and a band that is celebrating their 25th anniversary- making some of their best music EVER AND MORE! My list of 5 went to 10 quickly with the amount of new good noise being made.

New music is inspiring to me as a rock fan and as much as I love the classics spanning 50 years that WDHA plays, we want to rock into the future as well.

5 Didn’t Cut It- I Had To Go 10!

There’s a lot going on in music. Artists releasing singles, albums, new bands, old friends, genres, sounds, flavors. Many of the artists listed will be touring this year- (Def Leppard, Kittie, Myles, Slash, Halestorm, 311) ….so don’t forget to grab tickets and check out a show! – and check out the links below for more of my interviews and story content! Have a great summer and thanks for rocking with US!

Who Remembers The New Jersey Daytrio?

Legendary Places Of Our Jersey Youth We Wish Were Still Around

  • 1. Myles Kennedy- Say What You Will

Myles is BACK! (well, solo Myles is back, Alter Bridge Myles is on a break and so is Slash/Conspirators Myles) and brining his 3rd solo release “The Art Of Letting Go” – in October. Described as a “rock record’- by Myles himself on a recent WDHA Reconnect With Rockers webisode, the video is AMAZING! The young star who is amazing on air guitar steals the show. (As does Myles incredible performance)

  • 2. Halestorm/ I Prevail- Can U See Me In The Dark?

Will we get this duet from Lzzy Hale and Eric Vanlerberghe? My money is on the YES! Killer vocals from two of the rock formats most powerful current based artists. This heavy hitter is a dynamic duet. I can’t wait to hear (and see) it live!

  • 3. The Offspring- Make It All Right

A new Offspring record in October?! Yes! The first single from “Supercharged”- is classic Offspring this time focusing on overcoming tough times. Check out a cool cameo from Canadian voice actress Rebecca Shoichet, who fits the song perfectly- “Make It All Right” just feels good.

  • 4. 311- You're Gonna Get It

311 have released a great new tune “You’re Gonna Get It” their first in five years. Classic 311, this song takes me back to when I first discovered the band and I like it!

  • 5. Kittie- We Are Shadows

KITTIE IS BACK! 25 years after they wowed me as teens at OZZFEST- The Lander sisters, who have fought to keep Kittie alive have returned with probably the best record of the bands career. Strong songs, Morgan’s incredible vocals and the metal chops that made them stars in the 1990’s, I’m so happy “Fire” is out this week. I LOVE a new Kittie album. Check out my Reconnect with Morgan from Kittie above.

  • 6. Slash- Anything from Orgy Of The Damned

An epic collection of blues classics (with a Rock, R&B tinge) not only does “Orgy Of The Damned” feature guest slots from Iggy Pop, Chris Robinson, Beth Hart, Dorothy, Billy Gibbons, Gary Clark Jr. Demi Lovato and more, Slash’s band is smoking’ hot, and I dare you not to love this soon to be classic- It’s a masterpiece.

  • 7. Def Leppard- (featuring Tom Morello) Just Like 73

Def Leppard paying homage to the year they discovered Bowie, glam and got “baptized into music” with a guest appearance from Tom Morello on guitar, it’s a fun, glam, summer anthem you can sing along to.

  • 8. StrateJacket- Bad Start

Out of Northern California, this trio of power, punk, rock, pop performers, are a band to watch. Think Green Day at the High School prom!

  • 9. Falling In Reverse -Jellyroll- All My Life

The merging of country rock and heavy continues with this fun, catchy combo from Falling In Reverse and the “It” guy of music Jellyroll!

  • 10. Poppy- New Way Out

Nominated for a grammy in 2021, “Poppy” – (Moriah Rose Perriera) took a metal turn is 2020 with her Sumarian Records (3rd) release and she’s been flying the NU Metal flag ever since. Cool vibe, heavy hitting from this upcoming female rocker.
