I finally had some time to sit and listen to the album “Horns for a Halo” by the band Elegant Weapons.

I was expecting something high quality. Good songwriting, great guitar work, big vocals, and good production too.

That’s just what I got! Elegant Weapons is a metal supergroup with guitarist Richie Faulkner from Judas Priest, vocalist Ronnie Romero of Rainbow, drummer Christopher Williams from Accept, and bassist Dave Rimmer from Uriah Heep.

It’s hard rock music with really infectious choruses and melodic overtones throughout each track. A solid release from beginning to end.

Let’s take a look at a few standout tracks!

  • DEAD MAN WALKING:

A dueling opening riff helps get this one started. The drumming is consistent and solid all the way through. But this one was a massive chorus! You can’t help but hum along with it.

  • BLIND LEADING THE BLIND:

  • LIGHTS OUT:

One of my favorites on the album. It comes in with a faster tempo. And an almost 90’s Megadeth-era guitar riff. Great lead guitar work throughout. And Ronnie Romero’s vocals belt out each line with excitement and enthusiasm!
