The Original Queen Lita Ford! Giving me a great Box Of Rock Interview!

Greetings Friends!

Here is my interview with the one and only Lita Ford. Lita has long been an inspiration to me (since I got my first Runaway’s record as a kid!) as she is such a powerhouse at everything she does. Her guitar playing is amazing, her vocals are pure Lita, metal, hard rock sexy swagger and she is a killer interview with her candor, attitude, and a great look at life as a rock star.

We speak about new music, being in “a band”, being inspired by Eddie Van Halen and Gary Hoey, not compromising, and much more- Lita rocks the Starland Ballroom on September 22nd- Starland Tickets For Lita Ford. She’s amazing live.

I am also sharing my list of 5 Lita TC Faves, (beyond the hits) that I can’t live without!

  • Back To The Cave- 1988

From her 1988 “LITA” masterpiece, this is one of my favorite guitar grooves from the goddess of guitar.
There is something mysterious, magical, and unique, and “Back to The Cave” should have been a monster 80’s hit.
The “Lita” record gave us two big MTV hits “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close My Eyes Forever” (her duet with Ozzy Osbourne) but “Back To The Cave will always be my favorite from this awesome release.

  • Gotta Let Go - 1984

I was obsessed with this song when I first heard it in the summer of 1984 as a young teen and the guitar playing was the first thing I heard and I thought it was a male metal band! Being a massive Runaway fan, I LOVED Lita and rushed to my local record store when I heard she had a solo album! I’m not kidding when I say this. I first heard the song on WDHA’s Metal Mania with The High Priestess of Metal Cheryl Richardt! How crazy is that?
Hail to the drum god the late Randy Castillo who slays it on this tune.

And the video is SOOOOOOO 80’s and crazy good……

  • Lisa- 1990

“Lisa” is a song written for Lita’s beautiful mom.

Lita has always credited her parents for her being a stabilizing force in her life and her relationship with her mom as one of the most important in her life.  The emotion in her vocal and her playing are so powerful and the video is a beautiful mix of performance and photo memories. It’s always hard to get through this one without feeling the emotion and shedding a tear.

  • Dancing On The Edge - 1984

“Dancing On the Edge” is full package Lita- Amazing energy, killer playing, out in front lead vocal and a sexy, swagger, rock/metal vibe. It’s perfect and when she performs it live in concert it rocks your head off!

  • Living Like A Runaway - 2012

There is something magical about this song from Lita. It’s about her journey, her life, her soul. There is a bit more of a pop element to it, proving Queen Lita can do it all
