Sevendust is praised quite often in music community and rightfully so. They are great songwriters, talented players, and know how to attack a live show.

That being said, it’s no surprise that when one (or more) of the member have a side project, it’s going to be something worth checking out.

That’s the case with Call Me No One. It was a one off venture that gave us the release called “Last Parade” and it was a whole lot of fun! Created by guitarist/vocalist Clint Lowery and Drummer Morgan Rose, this side project had some moments that felt reminiscent of 7D, but overall was a whole different animal.

The heavy riffs weren’t exactly Sevendust style and there were a number of tunes on this record which just didn’t fit inside any specific box.

I feel like this album kind of flied under the radar, despite paise from critics – it just never got the recognition it deserved.  Soooooo……..let’s take a look at some great songs off the album!

THE WORLD IS DEAD

Despite the lyrics, it’s an upbeat melody with an up-tempo beat propelling the tune and giving it an almost anthemic vibe – great opener to the album!!

BIGGEST FAN

This song has the structure of a Foo Fighters song.  I know that’s odd to say.  And I don’t mean it sounds like Grohl and company, but it follows that certain structure and it works.  Less metal – more hard rockin’!  It served as a good first single for people to get a taste of the band.

HILLBILLY

A banjo intro??  Yes please.  This one has that driving feel that pulsates and gets your adrenaline going.  An interesting mix of slight southern overtones and Sevendust style metal.  It’s a great blend!
