Another week means another batch of new releases to get excited about! I love the feeling of picking up an album, whether it’s on vinyl, cd, or even digitally and just sitting back and taking a musical journey with an artist. Below are some ideas for what you might want to experience for yourself this week!

• EXTREME - SIX

  This is the first studio release in 15 years from the band. So expectations are pretty high. “Rise”, the first single we got from the album is the opening track and it shows what a guitar virtuoso Nuno Bettencourt is. It also shows that the rest of the band is ready to rock and that Gary Cherone is ready to move us with infectious melodies. This is definitely one not to be overlooked!

• RATT – THE ATLANTIC YEARS BOX SET

  This is going to be a really awesome set that contains all 5 discs that were released during the Atlantic time frame where each disc went either Gold, Platinum, Or Multi-Platinum!  Lots of hits and great B-sides to check out!

• SCARR SYMMETRY - THE SINGULARITY (PHASE II - XENOTAPH)

  My cohost for “Metal With The Mikes,” Mike Bufis and I don’t think this band gets enough love.  They have brutally heavy riffs and really aggressive screams, yet are able to balance that on certain tracks with melodic hooks and melodies.  Should be pretty cool!
