It’s a new week, which means tomorrow we get some new album releases! There’s plenty of stuff to choose from, whether you’re into heavy, ambient, or just straight-ahead rock. Let’s take a look at a mix of albums that might be kind of cool to check out!

  • ALT. – ABEYANCE

ALT. is a very interesting band. They have a bit of a Deftones vibe. An even cleaner sound and less screaming, but it’s hypnotic and entrancing and makes for a really trippy, head-spinning listen. Can’t wait to hear their full length release!

  • MOTORHEAD - LIVE AT THE MONTREAUX JAZZ FESTIVAL '07

Motorhead was something to see/hear in concert.  So loud, so intense, so good!!   This should be a cool listen as a full length set from them.  Lemmy and company always brought it live!

  • QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE - IN TIMES NEW ROMAN...

Josh Homme had a rough go of it lately personally, but his music has not suffered from it.  In fact, the new material so far, sound like classic QOTSA.  It’s got these interesting vocal melodies mixed with the alt rock guitar sound.  Very catchy.  Think rocker meets earworm.

  • NAILBOMB - 1000% HATE

Formed as a metal supergroup featuring Max Cavellera of Sepulture and Alex Newport of Fudge Tunnel, this is extreme metal.  It’s a release that features their only studio album “Point Blank” AND a live show.

It’s kind of punky, hardcore, and heavy as all get out!  Check it out if you’ve never heard it before.

  • ROYAL THUNDER – REBUILDING THE MOUNTAIN

Awesome compositions.  And a sound that combines a psychedelic feel with a modern take on 90’s grunge.  Queen of noise Miny Parsonz sounds raw and raspy and just downright awesome here.
