This is the time of year when many bands are on the road and we eagerly await to see if there will be a Jersey date or somewhere close by for us to attend. Well, as it turns out – there are quite a good number of shows to see this concert season. From Heavy, to jam bands, to everything in between. Get your calendar in order and make sure you don’t miss out on a fantastic show from one of your favorite bands!

Below is a list of several shows that I’m looking forward to. I won’t list them all for you, but instead give you five that I definitely don’t want to miss.

• AVENGED SEVENFOLD - MSG June 23rd

  A7X hasn’t been around in a while and they are on the road in support of their latest album “Life IS But A Dream…”
  These guys are excellent showmen. They know how to whip a crowd up into a frenzy and I think these new songs will only just add to the overall energy of the show!!

• WEEZER - Forest Hills Stadium July 13th

  Rivers Cuomo and company always make it a party when they play live.  Such a huge catalog of hits to go through and so much nerdy, yet smooth jams to rock out to.  It’s a can’t miss for me!

• GODSMACK/STAIND - PNC July 29th

  It’s been a while since Staind has hit the road.  And we’re getting a new album from the guys too, so that should be exciting!  Sully and Godsmack always know how to crank the energy level to eleven.  I have a feeling this is going to be an amazing co-headlining show!

• ALTER BRIDGE - Stone Pony Summer Stage August 2nd

  Here’s the deal – Alter Bridge is loud and will probably be heard in Morris County from the stage.  And that’s an awesome thing.  They are full of excitement, between Mark Tremonti’s playing and the vocals of Myles.  Don’t miss this one.  Especially since they’re bringing along openers Sevendust and Mammoth WVH.  Enough said.

• METALLICA - MetLife Stadium Aug 4th and 6th

  72 Seasons is out. A great piece of work from these 60 year old thrash veterans! A no-repeat weekend. 2 shows and 2 different sets! Plus, they’ve got insanely cool openers for each show. If you can make it to both, go!!! If just one…..it’ll be a hard choice but you can’t go wrong!
