Halloween is fast approaching. Hopefully you bought your candy and have your spooky or funny costume ready to go! We’re going to take a look at 6 rock songs that should be on your Halloween playlist this year. They’ll help you get in the mood and have some fun rocking out too!

Rock music and Halloween share an eerie and electrifying connection that has resonated with generations of fans. The haunting melodies, dark themes, and rebellious spirit of rock have made it the perfect soundtrack for the spookiest night of the year.

From the eerie guitar riffs of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” to the devilish lyrics of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell,” rock music often delves into themes of darkness, the supernatural, and rebellion, creating an ideal ambiance for the Halloween season. The powerful beats and soul-stirring vocals of rock bands can send shivers down your spine and provide an exhilarating rush that perfectly complements the thrill of the holiday.

Many rock icons, such as Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie, have embraced Halloween as an integral part of their personas, often using elaborate costumes and stage designs to immerse their audiences in a macabre world of ghouls and monsters.

Rock and Halloween both share an element of escapism and transformation, allowing people to step into another world for a night. Whether you’re blasting classic rock anthems or headbanging to heavy metal, the connection between rock music and Halloween is an enduring one, adding an extra layer of excitement and mystique to the holiday. So, as the jack-o’-lanterns flicker and the costumed revelers roam the streets, let the sound of rock music be your guide through the eerie and enchanting night of Halloween. And of course, be sure not to eat all your children’s candy on that first night! It’ll hurt your stomach and you also don’t want to get caught. LOL

Let’s take a look at 6 rock songs that should be on your Halloween playlist this year.

  • WEDNESDAY 13 - RETURN TO HADDONFIELD

It’s the town where Michael Myers wreaked havoc on Halloween night. This tune is eerie, but rocking and a nicely themed song for Halloween!

  • DOKKEN - DREAM WARRIORS

Featured on the soundtrack to arguably the best Freddy movie, A Nightmare On Elm Street 3.  This one by Dokken has that catchy chorus and hypnotic feel.  Pretty classic!

  • FAITH NO MORE - WAR PIGS

Sabbath tunes are typically eerie and creepy and filled with dark tones.  Of course War Pigs is a classic, but to have another band pull off an amazing cover??  Pretty epic!

  • ALICE COOPER - FEED MY FRANKENSTEIN

He’s the master of shock.  And his songs are so eclectic and varied.  What a unique delivery on each one and this track in particular will have you singing along by the end of the first chorus!

  • AVENGED SEVENFOLD - NIGHTMARE

After the death of founding member and drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan, it was hard to think of the band carrying on.  But they got to work and knocked it out of the park with their next record.  And this is the title track which hits hard!

  • SLAYER - DEAD SKIN MASK

It’s a slower tempo track from thrash metal kings Slayer.  But man is it creepy and melodic.  A cool blend and perfect for Halloween night!
