Three N.J. Donut Shops Make Yelp’s Top 100 Of 2022

The company was taken public in 2000 but struggled before being acquired by JAB Holding Company in 2016.

Three donut shops in the Garden State have made Yelp’s Top 100 US Donut Shops 2022 list. As most are aware, Yelp reviews are made by the public and are used to share guests’ experiences from millions of businesses including eateries all around the world. The team at Yelp scoured reviews from hundreds of donut shops to compile their 2022 list of the best donuts across the United States. Three of those shops were found in New Jersey. Starting at the lowest ranked on the list to the highest, here are the three donut shops that made the list:

  • 55. Nauti Donuts, Ocean City, New Jersey

    Nauti Donuts came in at No. 55 on Yelp’s Donut Shop list this year. The donut shop specializes in Asian desserts and a fan favorite is the “make your own” donut that allows guests to customize their dessert experience. One guest left a review writing, “So bad for your waistline. So good for your tastebuds.”

    Nauti Donuts is open from Friday – Sunday at 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • 49. Purple Glaze Donuts, Asbury Park, New Jersey

    Purple Glaze Donuts in Asbury Park broke the top 50 for New Jersey coming in at No. 49. One Yelp user suggested two donuts to check out the next time you’re in the area. “The holy cannoli was the best, but if you see edible cookie dough on the specials menu again GET IT!”

    Purple Glaze Donuts is open from Thursday through Sunday 7:30 a.m. 2 p.m.

  • 35. Uncle Dood’s Donuts, Toms River, New Jersey

    Uncle Dood’s Donuts located in Toms River had the highest ranking on Yelp’s list this year for the Garden State coming in at No. 35. Some review highlights from Uncle Dood’s Donuts were: “The Vermont Swine (bacon maple) is absolutely delicious; my favorite diet-destroying indulgence the world over.” While another user raved over a donut inspired by a popular breakfast cereal. “My favorites are the French toast, bed rockin (fruity pebbles) and their pumpkin from the October menu.”

    The donut shop is open from Tuesday to Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
