Coming in at #5 Is commander Austin S. This is his first time requesting and WOW! He did a great job! by dropping The Clampdown by The Clash in the zone. Clampdown is a politically charged punk rock song that was released by The Clash in 1979 on their album, London Calling. The song’s lyrics express the band’s frustration with the social and political climate of their time, and their belief that the government and other institutions were conspiring to control and manipulate the masses. It opens with a catchy guitar riff and a pulsating drumbeat before Joe Strummer’s distinctive vocals come in. Strummer’s vocals are forceful and urgent, conveying the sense of urgency and frustration that pervades the song.  Great Job and welcome to the Brigade Austin S!  Salute!

Jersey John comes in at #3 with his request for “Stupify” by Disturbed. “Stupify” is from Disturbed’s debut album The Sickness. “Stupify” with a thudding drumbeat and a screeching guitar riff before David Draiman’s distinctive vocals come in. Draiman’s deep, aggressive voice perfectly captures the intensity and anger of the song. “Stupify “is a classic heavy metal anthem that stands as one of Disturbed’s greatest achievements. Its powerful vocals, driving guitar riffs, and lyrics that speak to the human experience of feeling trapped and powerless make it a song that continues to resonate with audiences today. Thank you Crazy Cousin Carl! This DJ Choice request lands you at #2. I chose the brand new release from the Foo Fighters titled Rescued. It’s from their forthcoming album But Here We Are. It is due out June 2,2023.Rescued is a fiery rocker that is similar to their song In Your Honor. I love that song and Rescued. The announcement of a new Foo Fighters album is always cause for excitement among fans, and But Here We Are is no exception. Set to be released on June 2, 2023, this will be the band’s 11th studio album and their first since the tragic loss of their longtime drummer, Taylor Hawkins, in March 2022.While little is known about the album’s content or musical direction, fans can expect the signature sound and energy that the Foo Fighters are known for. Dave Grohl, the band’s frontman, has hinted in interviews that the album may feature a more introspective and personal approach, perhaps reflecting the difficult time the band has gone through with Hawkins’ passing. The Foo Fighters have always been known for their powerful and emotive live performances, and fans can look forward to hearing the new material on their upcoming tour, which is set to kick off in the summer of 2023. Thank you for the DJ’s Choice Crazy Cousin Carl! Salute!

#1. Anthrax and Public Enemy – Bring The Noise                                                                                                       Requested through – Email Request Line [email protected]                                                                          Requested by – Commander Kyle M in Hillsborough , NJ

Commander Kyle M tops the list with his request for Bring The Noise by Anthrax and Public Enemy. Congrats to the Knicks!!! Finally!! Bring the Noise is a groundbreaking collaboration between the thrash metal band Anthrax and the hip-hop group Public Enemy. The song was released in 1987 as a single and later included on Anthrax’s fourth studio album, State of Euphoria. Bring the Noise was a critical and commercial success, and it is often cited as one of the most important songs in the history of rap-rock crossover. The song begins with a sample of Chuck D’s vocals from Public Enemy’s Rebel Without a Pause, before launching into a frenzied guitar riff and a pounding beat. Bring the Noise was also groundbreaking for its use of sampling. The song’s opening sample of Chuck D’s vocals was just one example of the innovative ways in which the song blended elements of hip-hop and heavy metal. Anthrax’s guitarist, Scott Ian, was a fan of hip-hop and had been incorporating samples into the band’s music for some time. But Bring the Noise took that approach to a whole new level, with its use of samples and breakbeats. The collaboration between Anthrax and Public Enemy was a groundbreaking moment in music history, and Bring the Noise remains a powerful and influential song more than three decades after its release. Great Job Kyle! Salute! And Go Knicks!
