The Cars – Let the Good Time’s Roll                                                                                                                        Requested Through – Facebook Request Line – Scotty B wdha                                                                              Requested by – Commander Erik P in New Brunswick , NJ                                                                                      5

Bring up the rear at #5 is Commander Erik P with his request for The Cars “Let the Good Times Roll” in celebration for buying a new track. Congratulations dude! “Let the Good Times Roll” is a celebration of rock and roll as a force for joy and liberation. It’s from The Cars Self titled 1978 debut album. Part of the song’s appeal lies in its nod to the past while remaining firmly rooted in the present. The title and chorus are taken from a classic 1950s R&B song by Shirley and Lee, and the Cars’ version pays homage to that era’s exuberance and energy while updating it for a new generation. The band’s use of synthesizers and other electronic instruments adds a modern twist to the traditional rock and roll sound, creating a unique hybrid that was both familiar and innovative. Great Job and enjoy your new truck Erik! Salute!

Commander Kyle M takes the two spot with his request for the late great Bob Marley who sadly passed away May 112, 1981. I chose” Jamming” to pay tribute to the man that is  considered one of the pioneers of reggae, Bob Marley is known for fusing elements of reggae, ska, and rocksteady, as well as his distinctive vocal and songwriting style. Released in 1977 on Marley’s album “Exodus,” “Jamming” is a track that perfectly captures the laid-back, feel-good vibe of his music and has become a beloved classic around the world. “Jamming” is a celebration of life, love, and togetherness. The song’s chorus declares, “We jammin’, jammin’, I wanna jam it wid you / We jammin’, jammin’, and I hope you like jammin’ too.” The lyrics are a call to unite and celebrate the beauty of life, even in the face of adversity. It’s a message that continues to resonate with listeners today, reminding them of the power of music to bring people together and lift their spirits. Rest Easy Bob Marley, we miss you.
