Act Against Hunger presented by Kings Food Markets
About
According to Feeding America, 37 million people struggle with hunger in the United States, including more than 11 million children and nearly 5.4 million seniors. Hunger knows no boundaries -it touches every community in the U.S. including our own.
Over the next several months, the Beasley Best Community of Caring initiative and Kings Food Markets will work toward increasing a deeper understanding of the issue of hunger in America and ways we can help be a part of a solution.
We’ll present articles, videos, podcasts and more that help fight the stigma often associated with addressing hunger and households being food insecure.
The USDA reports that last year in the United States,
- 40 million people lived in food-insecure households.
- 9.7 million adults lived in households with very low food security.
- 6.5 million children lived in food-insecure households in which children, along with adults, were food insecure.
