Coachella, Governors Ball Unveil 2018 Lineups
These frigid temperatures aren’t letting up soon enough, but the lineup announcements of Coachella and the Governors Ball are certainly making us feel warm and tingly.
Coachella, which takes place April 13-15 and 20-22 in Indio, Calif., dropped their lineup reveal last night (January 2), and while it’s dominated primarily by hip-hop, R&B and other pop-related darlings, it’s good to see A Perfect Circle getting a relatively high billing on April 15 and 22. Also proudly representing rock is Greta Van Fleet on April 13 and 20 and Highly Suspect on April 14 and 21.
One of the most pleasant surprises on the bill is Talking Heads frontman/everyone’s favorite cycling enthusiast David Byrne, who’s booked on April 14 and 21.

As for the Governors Ball lineup, there’s definitely some more rock surprises much to our delight.
Taking place June 1-3 in New York City, the Governors Ball finds Jack White in a headlining roll making this his first major gig since the tour cycle for his last solo LP, Lazaretto, wrapped up. This will also be a major gig for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who recently returned to the stage after a four-year absence.
As if that weren’t enough, The Gaslight Anthem will be reuniting since announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2015 and will be playing their 2008 album The ’59 Sound in its entirety.
