Lori Loughlin’s Daughter Was on Billionaire USC Chairman’s Yacht When Scandal Broke
Lori Loughlin’s daughter Olivia was aboard the yacht of USC’s billionaire Chairman of Trustees when the news broke of her mom’s impending arrest in a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme, according to reports.
Olivia Jade Gianulli, 19, was reportedly partying with friends for Spring Break on Rick Caruso’s yacht in the Bahamas. Caruso is father to Giannulli’s friend, Gianna Caruso.
Rick told TMZ: “My daughter and a group of students left for spring break prior to the government’s announcement yesterday. Once we became aware of the investigation, the young woman decided it would be in her best interests to return home.”
Caruso was recently elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees for USC. But according to TMZ, neither he nor the board will make a decision about Olivia Giannulli’s fate at the university, where she is facing expulsion. Instead, the president of the university will make the decision.
Giannulli’s fate as a YouTube vlogger and beauty influencer is also up in the air as Variety reports that many of her lucrative deals may fall through in the wake of the scandal.
Giannulli has said multiple times on camera that she either hated her school or had no interest in attending. She later apologized for the comments.
Her mother, Fuller House star Lori Loughlin, was arrested Wednesday in Los Angeles. She is facing felony fraud charges after she and husband Mossimo Giannulli reportedly paid $500K to get their daughters into the school as part of a nationwide college entrance scam.
