Metallica is one band that many believe should perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. While that didn't happen last night during Super Bowl LVII, the metal icons playfully referred to the highly-anticipated performance from Rihanna.
Shortly after the halftime show wrapped, Metallica shared via Twitter, "We can't believe Rihanna didn't ask us to be her backup singers..." Included with the tweet was a clip from Metallica's appearance on Apple Music's Carpool Karaoke: The Series. The band drove around with actor/comedian Billy Eichner singing various songs including Rihanna's "Diamonds."
The Metallica/Billy Eichner episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series is quite funny. If you need further proof, watch this other clip below where James Hetfield admits to sending a d-ck pic and screams lyrics from a Little Mermaid song at Eichner.
The entire Super Bowl extravaganza wasn't completely without rock, though. Keep scrolling to see some notable rock moments from last night.
