Nightmare Alert!: Blood Reportedly Fell From a Funeral Home
There are a series of horror movie tropes that we could not imagine happening in real life.
Well, what if we told you a scene from The Shining kind of happened in real life? Folks living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana noticed a steam of blood coming from a funeral home this past Thursday.
That’s right, imagine driving or walking past your local undertaker’s business and noticing a puddle of blood surrounding the establishment. Residents of the area took photographs of the bizarre occurrence. The photos show bright red liquid coming from the street in front of the funeral home. If there were not context to the image, we would have thought it was a deleted scene from “IT”.

According to city officials, there was an issue with a pipe line. Due to a stoppage, liquid built up and caused the blood to spew from the ground. To make matters worse, the blood was also mixed with embalming fluid and contained formaldehyde says the Huffington Post.
The continuous horror moment happened for about 20 minutes. Luckily, people noticed the failure in the pipes before it could make its way into the sewer system. WBRZ interview Adam Smith from the City of Baton Rouge Department of Environmental Services who states that they “send out both sewer inspectors” as well as their “environmental specialists” to the scene.
Once they inspected the property, they “determined that it wasn’t a sewer issue and that it had happened on a private property.”

Dignity Memorial received a citation from the incident. The business, which was been under new management, made a statement to The Advocate stating that they are sorry “for any inconvenience this may have caused visitors to out cemetery.” They also noticed that as soon as they noticed the leak, they made sure to “clean and disinfect the area”.
Regardless of the reason behind the bizarre event, it would have been a freaky event to lay eyes on!
