Nap Desks And 5 Other Things Your Office Needs ASAP
Maybe you accidentally took Happy Hour a little too far, or perhaps you were burning the midnight oil the night before as you tried to meet a deadline. Either way, sometimes a workday nap feels absolutely essential. But with your run-of-the-mill desk it’s not always possible, nor would it be comfortable. However, a Greek design firm has changed all of that. They’ve released a prototype for a desk that looks totally normal at first glance but features a retractable lid that converts into a mattress when you need to catch a few ZZZs. Even more genius? You can make the desk part workspace, part mattress, so if you’re on a two-person team and need to sleep in shifts, you’re covered.

Besides a nap desk, here are some other features we’d love to have at the office:
A wine bar
Everyone’s more creative after a glass or two, right? Your clients would appreciate your boost in genius ideas.
A mute button
Whether it’s the ability to mute certain co-workers or just the ability to mute everyone when you really have to focus and need some silence, this feature would be incredible.
Dogs
So many dogs. Bring your own. Rent one for the day. The office morale would skyrocket when puppies were present.
A clothing exchange program
Your co-worker comes in wearing the most adorable outfit, and suddenly you feel frumpy. There should be a system where you can swap clothes with your colleagues. Plus, you get tired of wearing the same outfits to work day in and day out, so when you’re done with them, let someone else enjoy them.
A microwave that polices what you heat up
Sorry, Susan, you’re trying to heat up fish and broccoli and that’s just not allowed with this new microwave. It’s for the sake of your co-workers and the entire office. Try something a little more appealing instead.
These gadgets would make any office more pleasant. It’s hard not to feel productive when you’re well-rested, a little buzzed, and in the company of puppies.
