This Woman Is Your New Instagram Hero
Social media is all about putting your best foot forward. You can perfectly filter and caption your life to make it seem perfect, even when this isn’t the case. As a result, it’s easy to scroll through your feed and wonder how everyone else is so great at being an adult, while you’re falling miserably behind. Then you look at Celeste Barber’s Instagram and you feel much better about things.
The comedian puts a spin on the photos that normally would leave you feeling bad about yourself. While the original images are totally photoshopped and/or impossible for a normal woman to achieve, Barber does her own, mere mortal impersonation of them. The end result is hilarious. Further, her comparisons illustrate just how unrealistic Hollywood is. For example, we’ve got these two side-by-side shots:
If you saw the original GQ image, you might be left feeling bad about yourself and your general lack of chair sexiness. When you see Barber’s hilarious take on the whole thing, you realize just how ridiculous the original truly is.
Then there’s this image. The Kardashians are being all vampy and sexy together. Barber has her own interpretation.
A more realistic take on towel selfies.
We especially love this one. High fashion is SO WEIRD.
Don’t think Queen Bey is safe from having her photos recreated either. It may have been an Internet-breaking photo, but it’s still next-level weird.
Doesn’t every woman pose sexily in front of an open refrigerator?
