Collegiate StarLeague Grand Finals Returning in May
One of the largest college esports organizers out there, Collegiate StarLeague, announced its Grand Finals weekend returns this month. Like many other esports events, CSL had to rethink its events structure in the wake of COVID-19. But the party is back on beginning May 30th with over $215,000 in scholarships and prizes on the line.

In line with previous CSL finals, this year’s event will have competitions in League of Legends, DOTA 2, CS:GO, Rocket League, and Magic: The Gathering Arena. The CEO of Collegiate StarLeague and World Gaming Network, Wim Stocks, says the organization is ecstatic.
“Our collegiate season culmination is the perfect medium for CSL collegiate players and teams to showcase their skills on a grand scale while representing their schools, even as everyone continues to safely shelter in place. There is nothing like the rivalry of school vs school competitions, all the more heightened given the 2019-2020 Grand Finals and Championship titles and scholarships are at stake.”

CSL has a number of sponsors for the event including Hyper X, Game Stop, and Efuse. No information on which schools are participating was released. But CSL says more information is coming via their website and social channels. Also, with multiple college brackets wrapping up in the next couple of weeks it’s great to see these grand finals back on. The entire event goes live on CSL’s Twitch Channel on May 30 and ends May 31st.
