Science Has Found A Way To Get A Song Out Of Your Head
We’ve all been afflicted by this at some point in our lives…
Check this out! Scientists may have an answer if you ever had a song you just can’t get out of your head! Getting a song stuck in your head can be annoying, and sometimes you find yourself singing along to it. Just getting that one Christmas song stuck in your head can be just PURE HELL!
According to The Harvard Gazette, studies have shown that 90 percent of people experience this phenomenon, and for about one-third of them, it’s annoying.
It’s known as an earworm, and it comes from a German word called “Ohrwurm” meaning a musical itch.
How To Get A Song Out Of Your Head…
There’s a 40-second audio track called the Earworm Eraser, and listening to it can supposedly get songs UNSTUCK from your head. Here is how it works, it’s a loop of changing tempos, time signatures, and musical styles, so it won’t just become ANOTHER earworm to replace the one you’re trying to get rid of.
The Earworm Eraser can be found right on YouTube and there is a video down below, and a lot of people in the comments say it worked for them.
My Take On This…
I know when entering a store, I hear Mariah Carey’s song ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You‘, especially around this time of year, and it seems like every store has that track playing.
Just getting back in my car (yes I drive), I’ll find myself just singing along to it, and for the life of me, I can’t believe I know the words.
It is one of those songs that is played so much, I guess it’s hard to get out of your head. Hopefully, this Earworm Eraser works for you if you have this issue.
