The Perfect Wine and Candy Pairings
Halloween provides the perfect excuse to eat all of the candy you want without feeling guilty. What!?
You have to sample it to make sure you’re not accidentally poisoning your trick-or-treaters or something! But if you want to add a little sophistication to your sugar fix, here are some ideal wine and candy pairings worth trying:
Candy Corn + Prosecco
Candy Corn is a very polarizing treat, but if you’re part of the “love!” camp, then this is a yummy combination. Prosecco prevents the flavors in the candy from being over the top, while showcasing its creaminess.
Butterfinger + Chardonnay
A full-bodied Chardonnay gives a Butterfinger a deeper, richer flavor.

Laffy Taffy + Moscato
The fruity flavors of this candy really shine when paired with a moscato featuring equally fruity notes.
Sour Patch Kids + Riesling
Sour Patch Kids start off tart, then go sweet. Riseling does the opposite, which makes for an interesting and complex flavor experience.

Skittles + Sauvignon Blanc
The flavors found in the candy are similar to the notes found in the wine, so they end up complementing each other amazingly well.
While you may be too old to door to door asking for candy, you’re certainly not too old to have your friends over to try out the best candy and wine pairings. In fact, that sounds much better than dragging a pillowcase around the neighborhood when it’s cold outside anyway!
