Police say the child was shopping at the store with his mother and three of her friends.
After authorities received a phone call regarding a child left at Target, they interviewed his mom.
According to the woman, 27, the child was accidentally left in the cart while she drove off in her car. The woman’s friends reportedly left the store in their own vehicle.
WCVB is reporting that the child’s mother assumed one of her friends had placed the child in his car seat before they left the parking lot.
Therefore, she didn’t notice he wasn’t in her vehicle until she arrived at her next destination.
