Pups and their humans flocked to Calandra’s Il Vecchio Cafe on Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell to celebrate NATIONAL DOG DAY on Saturday 8/26 with WDHA for a Yappy Hour puppy party!
The dogs dressed for the occasion and the menu reflected some of the Fido favorites that the doggies loved. Frozen Pawgarita’s were served, made with Apple Sauce, Cucumber, with Yogurt Beef Broth and a Kibble Rim! Yummy!
The dog menu was waaaay better than the traditional dog food as well with Yogurt Deviled Eggs (topped with dried chicken bits), Peanut Butter Coated Steak Strips, and Frozen Butternut Squash Banana Bones. and of course Calandra’s is known for their incredible bakery so dessert was a must with Doggie Cannoli, Large Pupcakes and Doggie Ice Cream Cone Cookies made to order! Served up by their pawsome staff!
WDHA provided the Yappy Hour music, prizes and brought along concert tickets, t-shirts and our new WDHA Collapsible Dog Bowls and the dogs and their humans were jamming all day.
Yappy Hours are designed to get your family and friends out for a great time and not worry about having to leave your best furry friend at home feeling lonely. Cocktails and Canines, great food and pawsome company are what make these events so much fun. Calandra’s rolled out the red carpet and their incredible staff catered to everyone.
Calandra’s has the greatest food and their Italian Village gives so. many dining options – it’s simply incredible. Their Bakery is one of New Jersey’s finest and always has bakery treats on hand for our dogs as well.
WDHA was thrilled to be a part of such an epic event and we remind listeners to stay tuned for information on more WDHA Yappy Hour Events and of course more dog related station shindigs (Shin-DOGS!) Including Eleventh Hour Rescue’s and WDHA’s Puptoberfest on Saturday September 30th at Horseshoe Lake on Eyland Avenue in Succasunna.
Thanks for spending “National Dog Day” with us!
We had a BLAST!
