Latest FFDP Live Drama Causing Speculation On Band’s Future
There’s a little more tumult in Five Finger Death Punch‘s world these days.
During a roughshod concert Monday (June 12) in Tilburg, Netherlands, frontman Ivan Moody was AWOL for the first two songs, his place taken by another singer, Tommy Vext. According to reports a visibly agitated Moody subsequently took the stage, claiming “there’s only one f***ing singer in Five Finger Death Punch and I am (him).”
Moody also told the crowd that “I’ll let you know ahead of time — this is my last show with Five Figner Death Punch,” making a slitting motion with his finger across his throat. According to various accounts the abbreviated 40-minute performance was marred by poor performances and clear rancor between the band members, who disappeared from the stage in-between songs.
You’ll recall that during the spring Moody was rumored to be leaving the band for another musical project, which he denied. Last year, after a meltdown onstage, Moody was replaced by All That Remains’ Phil Labonte for a series of shows.
FFDP’s next show comes Wednesday (June 14) in Austria, with other European shows and U.S. fall festivals on its itinerary. The group has made no official comment about Moody’s status.
