ICYMI: Corey Taylor Responds to Chad Kroeger’s “Nickelback Lite” Comments
The recent animosity between Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger is turning into a full-blown beef.
After trading initial, insulting verbal shots at each other’s bands, Taylor has come back on an Arizona radio station to call Kroeger “an idiot” after the Nickelbacker said Stone Sour was “trying to be Nickelback…but they’re not as good” and labeling Slipknot a gimmick.
Despite noting that he’s friendly with the other members of Nickelback (“I love all the dudes in that band…I’ve hung out with them”), he responded that, “I don’t know what the hell planet he’s living on. Apparently, it’s Planet Kroeger, and there must be good weed there, ’cause he’s an idiot. I was so cued up to say some stuff about him, and then I just started reading all the comments online. I don’t have to say a damn thing. He is not a liked person. You can run your mouth all you want; All I know is I’ve been voted Sexiest Dude In Rock wearing a mask. You’ve been voted Ugliest Dude In Rock twice, without one. Stick that up your ass.”
The ball’s now in Kroeger’s court to fire back, but he’s busy; Nickelback just released a new album, Feed The Machine, and kicks off a tour on Friday in Noblesville, Ind.
Stone Sour, meanwhile, is playing U.S. dates in preparation for the June 30 release of its new album, Hydrograd.
