TSO Has Some Interesting Projects In The Works
Among the things Trans-Siberian Orchestra founder Paul O’Neill left behind when he died in April was several projects for the groups.
Guitarist and TSO tour musical director Al Pitrelli tells us there are as many as five works in motion, including Romanov: When Kings Must Whisper, about the 1917 Russian Revolution and The Pat of the Fairytale Moon, among others.
He also hoped to create stage productions for non-holiday TSO albums such as Night Castle and Letters From The Labyrinth, and to adapt at least one of the works into a Broadway musical.
Pitrelli tells us the surviving TSO camp is just starting to consider the future of those projects:
“I think the conversations are just starting to happen now that the tour is, we’ve booked the dates and everybody exhaled and went, ‘Oh, great, they’re coming around again’…Everything continues on; It’s just a little bit different now. Going to our production facility down in Tampa without him being there was different. The walls are still there. The staff is still there, the music is still on the computers. It’s just that it’s kinda just different now.”
TSO begins its annual holiday tour on November 16, with the two companies on the road through November 30.
