Josh Homme Recalls The Time He Was Roughed Up By TSA
Traveling has all sorts of hazards, and those who do it frequently certainly have their share of stories. Enter Queens of the Stone Age leader Josh Homme, who recounted one of his notable travel tales on a recent episode of comedian Adam Buxton’s podcast.
Seems that at an undisclosed date, Homme was flying out of the Burbank, Calif., airport early one morning after celebrating his birthday late the night before. Going through security TSA officers found a collapsible baton in Homme’s overnight bag, a gift from Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes, that was deemed too weapon-like. Homme, who says he still smelled like liquor and “clearly” hadn’t slept, acknowledged that he argued with the offices and “ended up going to jail…So then I said, ‘I’d like you to hear the following things since we’re going to jail.’ So I explained all this stuff in my own language, which apparently was no good. Took a few kicks in the ribs.”
