8 “Dog” Rock Songs For Chinese New Year
Happy Chinese New Year! Since 2018 is the year of the dog, we thought we’d have a little fun and fetch some of our favorite “dog” songs for your listening pleasure.
(Get it? Dog…fetch? Fine! They can’t all be winners!)
Anyway, here are eight “Dog” songs in honor of Chinese New Year.
The Stooges – “I Wanna Be Your Dog”
Carnal and raw, it’s The Stooges is their purest form.

Temple of the Dog – “Hunger Strike”
Technically not a “dog” song, but how could we really keep Temple of the Dog off this list?
AC/DC – “Dog Eat Dog”
An underrated track from AC/DC’s Let There Be Rock. In fact, after listening to all these “dog” songs, just go listen to Let There Be Rock. Your day will be better for it.
Flogging Molly – “Every Dog Has Its Day”
A mainstay on Flogging Molly’s setlist, one listen and we already want to start pre-gaming for St. Patrick’s Day.
The Cult – “Peace Dog”
“Peace Dog” can be found on 1987’s Electric, which is so underrated it’s practically criminal. Fun fact: Electric was produced by Rick Rubin. You can thank us for that factoid later when it eventually helps you win a game of pub trivia.

Beck – “Diamond Dogs”
It takes a lot of guts to cover David Bowie, but Beck’s moody rendition of “Diamond Dogs” is a killer.
Eagles of Death Metal – “Poor Doggie”
With a groove like this, no wonder it can be found on their album Death By Sexy.
Motorhead – “Dogs”
Can you think of a more badass way to end this list? Didn’t think so.
