AUDIO: Chris Cornell’s “You Never Knew My Mind” From New Johnny Cash Compilation
A new Johnny Cash compilation album called Forever Words is due out on April 6 which features newly discovered poems by Cash set to new music. Among those on the album is the late Chris Cornell.
Per John Carter Cash in an interview with Zane Lowe, Cornell took two different poems and combined them to create “You Never Knew My Mind.” The track marks the first posthumous release from the Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman.
Of course, Cornell and Cash do have some covers history. Cash famously covered Soundgarden’s “Rusty Cage” for his 1996 album Unchained.
Other artists featured on the upcoming Forever Words include Rosanne Cash, John Mellencamp, Elvis Costello, The Jayhawks and many more.
