Krist Novoselic Pokes Fun At Fans Upset About Nirvana Reunion Sans Kurt Cobain
The fact Krist Novoselic had to respond like this at all is enough to give people with any grasp on logic a headache.
Novoselic joined Foo Fighters on stage during the band’s Seattle show last Saturday (September 1.) Novoselic’s new band, Giants in the Trees, were opening for the Foos, so obviously an appearance from the Nirvana bassist wasn’t exactly shocking. What was shocking, however, was the comment section response when the Nirvana Facebook page shared a review of the concert from the Seattle Times titled “Nirvana’s surviving members reunite during Foo Fighters’ Seattle concert.”
The response? Well, it ranged from people hating on Foo Fighters to people being legitimately upset about the moment being called a reunion because Cobain wasn’t there. (Also, nevermind the fact that this type of venom was never present in the past number of Nirvana reunions from the past decade.)
But leave it to Novoselic to put folks in their place by taking to Twitter with, “We tried to get a hold of him for this gig—as many times as we tried to contact Kurt, we couldn’t get through. The phone just kept ringing & ringing. Kurt does not have email. In fact, I have never emailed him in my life and I have been online since 1993.”
Moral of the story? The comment section will continue to be a modern vision of the nine circles of hell, but hopefully you can find some joy in making fun of the idiots.
