FLASHBACK: Roger Taylor Sings “People Get Ready” with Jeff Beck
Roger Taylor sang on a number of Queen‘s songs, but it’s certainly easy to get overshadowed by someone like Freddie Mercury.
So, in honor of Taylor’s birthday today (July 26), let’s take a look at a performance from the June 2011 “A Picnic Concert by the Chapel on the Lake” at Wintershall Estate in England. The clip below sees Taylor not behind his drum kit, but joining Jeff Beck in providing the vocals for “People Get Ready,” which the guitarist famously covered with Rod Stewart in 1985.
As far as filling in for someone else on vocals, Taylor does an outstanding job playing the role of Stewart during the moving performance.
