David Draiman on Disturbed Honoring the 20th Anniversary of ‘The Sickness,’ Hints at 2020 Tour Plans
Disturbed‘s debut album The Sickness turns 20 in March, and the anniversary is certainly something the band has on their mind as they look forward to their festival-heavy tour schedule in 2020.
Frontman David Draiman recently spoke with WMMR’s Brent Porche and he said, “This entire touring cycle coming up is going to be celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘The Sickness.’ You’ll be getting a lot more material from the record. You’ll be getting some surprises. We’re very proud of it. You know, it’s amazing looking back that it’s been that long. It doesn’t feel that long, but I guess that’s a good thing. So, we definitely will pay tribute to what started it all for us, and we’re looking forward to really digging deep.”
While Draiman remained tight-lipped on Disturbed adding more U.S. tour dates on top of their current festival bookings, he did coyly hint, “We’ve definitely got some interesting stuff cooking. It’s not just going to be a spring thing for us. How much longer? That I can’t talk about.” On top of that, Draiman also said he “can neither confirm nor deny” that Disturbed will be booked for the Mayhem Festival, which is returning after a five-year hiatus. “I’ve heard whisperings about that, too,” said Draiman.
