Pearl Jam Release New Single ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’
Pearl Jam dropped “Dance of the Clairvoyants,” the first single from their new album, Gigaton, and it answers the burning question we’ve all asked ourselves at some point: “What would a child created by Pearl Jam and Talking Heads sound like after it was babysat by Reflektor-era Arcade Fire?”
“Dance of the Clairvoyants” is the first piece of new music from Pearl Jam since “Can’t Deny Me,” a stand-alone single released in March 2018. Bassist Jeff Ament said of the song, “‘Dance’ was a perfect storm of experimentation and real collaboration… We’ve opened some new doors creatively and that’s exciting.”
He also added that guitarist Stone Gossard plays bass on the song; Ament didn’t mention what instrument he played on the song, or who is playing synthesizers.
The track can be heard below and is available through all major digital platforms here.
Gigaton, due out March 27, is currently available for pre-order at PearlJam.com.
In another bit of Pearl Jam news, they have announced the opening act on their upcoming U.S. tour: Pluratone, the band that features guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who recently left the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
