Royal Blood Release Studio Version of ‘Boilermaker’ Produced by Josh Homme
Royal Blood has released the official studio version of “Boilermaker,” a song off their upcoming, third full-length album, Typhoons. The album is slated to arrive April 30 via Warner Records.
“Boilermaker” was a regular in Royal Blood’s set in the summer of 2019, and the band performed it the Reading and Leeds Festivals in the U.K. Since then, fans have been wondering if the band would ever release a studio version. Now, at long last, it’s here.
“Boilermaker” was produced by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and recorded at his Pink Duck studio in Los Angeles. The two camps are close, as Queens of the Stone Age and Royal Blood have toured together, and Royal Blood’s Mike Kerr also sang vocals on “Crucifire,” a song off Homme’s Desert Sessions project.
“I had ‘Boilermaker’ up my sleeve and it felt like a very natural decision to go and cut that track at his studio. Josh is such a strong-willed character,” Kerr said in a statement. “He gave us such confidence in ourselves.”
