Deadpool and Korg Team Up To React to ‘Free Guy’ Trailer
Has Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) finally crossed into the Marvel Cinematic Universe? “The Merc with a Mouth” was joined by Thor: Ragnarok‘s Korg (Taika Waititi) to sit down to watch the Free Guy trailer — which also stars Reynolds and Waititi.
“Not my first choice,” Deadpool crassly says of Korg’s guest appearance. “But apparently everyone else was too busy on Disney Plus.”
When it is revealed in the trailer that Guy (the main character of Free Guy) lives in a world that is just a video game, Deadpool asks, “Any thoughts on our villain, Korg?” to a freeze-frame of Antoine (Taika Waititi’s character from the film) spread eagle sitting at a desk. To which the very oblivious Korg replies, “Um, it looks like he’s got four arms, and the two lower ones have got gloves on! I like ’em.”
Deadpool asks Korg if he’s got any tips on joining the MCU, which set the comments section in a frenzy with users saying, “So he’s officially in the MCU.” Another person added, “A surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one.” One person commented, “Get to see they introducing Deadpool to the MCU through a random react promotional video. God, what a awesome time to be a Marvel fan.”
“Have a dream, uh, chase it, lose that dream — just sabotage all sorts of happiness and pursuit of that dream — climb up to the peaks of their mountain and when you get to the top, land at the bottom and realize you’re never gonna achieve that dream,” Korg advised. “And at that point, check your emails. Maybe you’ll get something from your agent saying: ‘Marvel wants to talk.'”
Reynolds snarkily (maybe) confirmed on his Instagram that Deadpool is officially a part of the MCU, adding that he will be kicking it off with “reaction videos, then some social influencer work, onto Parks appearances all leading up to some after-credit work by 2030.”
