‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin to ‘Open One Last Can of Whoop-Ass’ at WrestleMania 38
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin has been heavily rumored to be coming out of retirement for one more match at WrestleMania 38, and it looks like the rumors might be true.
Kevin Owens invited Austin on a special WrestleMania edition of “The KO Show” during last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw and in the process, he levied some major insults against the Texas Rattlesnake and the state of Texas, itself.
Austin sent a video response to Owens after being called out on Monday Night Raw, and understandably, “Stone Cold” was rather annoyed but clearly pumped up.

Austin said in his response, “Nineteen years ago I wrestled my last match in a WWE ring. After three Rock Bottoms, 1, 2, 3, I lost the match. For 19 years, I had to live with that defeat, knowing my time was up. Kevin Owens, I want to thank you. I want to thank you for waking something up deep inside me that I kept buried for 19 years. Ever since you started running that damn mealy-mouth of yours, talking about the state of Texas, the great state of Texas, you got my attention.”
Austin continued, “Why would you want to do that Kevin? I can think of two reasons. One, you are one dumb son of a b—-. Two, you are fixing to get your ass kicked by ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. Whether you want to call this the KO Show, a match, a fight, a brawl, whatever. I want to guarantee you this, in Dallas, Texas, where I started my career, at WrestleMania, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is going to open one last can of whoop-ass on you, Kevin Owens. That’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so.”
What this showdown will be is still up-in-the-air, but according to Cultaholic, “It originally appeared Austin would face Owens in a match at WrestleMania, competing inside the ring for the first time in 19 years, but it emerged over the weekend that Stone Cold’s segment at ‘Mania would be more than a simple confrontation but less than a full match.”
One thing is for certain: Those watching WrestleMania 38 — whether on Peacock or from inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas — they get to enjoy the sweet sound of glass shattering at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
