Why Noel Gallagher Blames ‘Friends’ for Music Sales Decreasing
Noel Gallagher is looking back in anger at the TV show Friends, who he blames for music sales decreasing.
He told the Daily Star (h/t Music-News.com) the show is to blame for the rise of coffee shop culture. He says that by normalizing spending a lot of money on fancy coffee drinks takes away from people’s spending on music.
“It is sitting around in sweaters drinking overpriced coffee and talking about nonsense,” said Gallagher. “Since the rise of the coffee shop, culture has disappeared. People are horrified that they have to pay for music! But $20 for two coffees, oh, absolutely. I haven’t got the brain capacity to process this.”
Gallagher’s logic is certainly up for debate, because there are clearly other factors at play like the rise of the internet and the obvious digital boom. However, this just feels like a great time to revisit the viral video of Liam Gallagher making himself a cup of tea. We’d embed it here, but there are way too many expletives to ignore. However, you can watch the hilarious clip here.
