MetLife Stadium To Host 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Final
FIFA picked East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium to host the 2025 Club World Cup final, the first of two major soccer events coming to the venue. The schedule gives MetLife nine games, while Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia gets eight games and a big quarter-final match.
After hosting the Club World Cup games, both stadiums will gear up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. MetLife will host eight games including the final, while Philadelphia’s stadium will host six matches. Construction crews from Skanska have begun making needed changes to the stadium to get ready for both major events.
The two tournaments are expected to bring big money to the area. Local officials are working on plans to help nearby businesses cash in during the events. NJ Governor Phil Murphy took to social media to share his excitement about getting nine games in 2025. “We are counting down the days until we can welcome fans from around the world to our region for the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup 2025!”
The 2025 event will serve as a practice run before the huge 2026 World Cup. Officials expect to see the biggest crowds ever for the main event. No word yet on tickets. FIFA plans to share prices and sales info in the next few months.
This bigger Club World Cup makes history as the first one held in the U.S., with more teams and games than ever.
