FFDP’s Zoltan Bathory Championing New Veteran/Endangered Species Project
Amidst all the furor over frontman Ivan Moody‘s status with the band, Five Finger Death Punch guitarist Zoltan Bathory has something positive going on the side.
Bathory has teamed with Veterans Empowered To Protect African Wildlife (Vetpaw), a non-profit that’s focused on preventing poachers from killing endangered species such as elephants and rhinoceroses in South Africa.
Vetpaw deploys military veterans from the U.S. and South Africa to use their training in patrolling for poachers, and Bathory recently traveled to Africa to eyeball the group’s efforts. He posted a message on Facebook that he “Met many brave men out here protecting African wildlife…doing everything in their power to stop the annihilation of some of these species. Poaching is a serious problem that could lead to armed conflicts, but if there’s not one to stop it — elephants and rhinos will disappear from this planet.”
Bathory is also promoting Vetpaw’s line of jewelry that it sells to help fund the organization.
FFDP, with Moody back in the band after missing most of the European tour to go through rehab, is currently on the road, while the group remains mired in a lawsuit with its former label.
