STP Announce 2018 U.S. Dates
Stone Temple Pilots will embark on its first tour with frontman Jeff Gutt on March 2 in Santa Clarita, Calif.
The group, which revealed Gutt during a private concert on November 14 in Los Angeles, has announced 11 headline dates and four festival shows, including Welcome To Rockville (April 28), Fort Rock (April 29) and Rock On The Range (May 20). Tickets for the headlining shows go on sale at 1 p.m. EST on December 8 via StoneTemplePilots.com and will include a digital link to the group’s new album, due out this spring.
Gutt is STP’s third frontman, following the late Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington, who committed suicide earlier this year, and guitarist Dean DeLeo tells us that he and the rest of the band are excited to show him off on the road next year:
“Jeff, he’s got his wits about him. He’s got a good knowledge of who he is and…I think Jeff approached this with, first and foremost, humilty, but with a great amoutn of confidence, and the bottom line is he’s a great singer, he’s a great singer and he looks good doing it.”
STP has released one new song, “Meadow,” with Gutt and has recorded 14 tracks for the album, according to DeLeo, which is currently being mixed.
